#KahunaArtLove – Fantasy Edition

So this week I started something I hope to do every week here. I’m calling it #KahunaArtLove (you can follow the tag on Twitter). The basic idea is that I pick 3-5 of the amazing artists I have found on Twitter. These can include painters, sketch artists, miniature painters, mapmakers, sculptors and writers. This is how I started it:

This week I focused on fantasy art painting. And let me tell you – there are a ton of folks doing incredible work. For example, take Polina @poli9andr:

Check out some of their work:

What really caught my attention was the detail and clarity. It stood out immediately to me. The shading is clean and crisp. I really thought these were great.

You can find more of Polina’s work at their ArtStation site, https://www.artstation.com/poli_andr

on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/poli_andr/

and on Twitter at https://www.twitter.com/poli9andr

Want to take a different look? Check out Darek Zabrocki’s work.

Darek is a concept art designer for films, games and architecture. His artwork is insanely detailed. He’s got a mastery of light and shadow and his composition is phenomenal. Your eye goes right to where he intends it to.

You can see more of Darek’s work on :

Twitter – https://twitter.com/DarekZabrocki
and his website at https://www.darekzabrocki.com/

Go take a look and you’ll see why I like his work so much.

The third artist for this week is Julia Shi (@jul_shii)

Strong colors, dramatic lighting, and powerful poses are a feature of Julia Shi’s work. The top left image was the first to catch my eye, but after perusing some more of her art, I found I liked more and more of it.

She’s a concept and storyboard artist based in New York (or so her Twitter feed says…) and has a yet a different style from the previous two artists.

You can find Julia’s work at https://twitter.com/jul_shii

I hope some of these folks caught your eye. This will be a weekly post with new artists each week. If you like the work these artists are putting out, head over to Twitter or their websites and let them. It also wouldn’t hurt to tell them the Kahuna sent you…

Next week: Sci-Fi artists
