The Heretics Code

When The Heretics / Technologists were driven into hiding, they needed a method to communicate and to signal each other that there were safe places for them. They developed a code that to this day has not been deciphered fully to understand it. It is obviously a cipher, but no one but the Technologists seem to know the key.

It is posited that there must be at least one translation key in existence, but to date, despite the efforts of the Dyan, none has been discovered.

It does appear to be based on ancient Urnati, but does not appear to be a letter for letter transcription or substitution. Scholars believe it may be made up of ancient mathematical symbols or perhaps a language or typography that existed centuries ago. Regardless of which, there has been very little translated and not enough to build a key.

Some examples have been found, and while their meaning is known, how that meaning is conveyed is a mystery. One example is:

This code is known to mean Giru Nukeni Nu, which translates to “Advance Favors All”.

These codes are often removed shortly after they appear, either by those who fear Ene (technology), or those who do not wish it to be decoded.

Other examples:

Kiki Bumano Qel – Fear Not Here

Only the first word has been translated. This word is “Ari”, which translates to “trap”.

Until a key to this code is developed. the Technologists/Heretics will be able to communicate without much interference. When that happens, however, it is likely that they would simply create a new code. As it has been hundreds of years without decoding, that seem to be something that would take a very long time.
